Kayla completed CASA training in May of 2021 and immediately accepted an appointment on a baby case. Working with an infant can have its unique challenges, especially during COVID. But, Kayla would always be able to find creative ways to maintain contact and visits throughout the pandemic. As she was able, Kayla would spend meaningful time with her CASA kid, taking her to a park or elsewhere in the community. She continues to maintain a strong rapport both with the foster family and the professionals supporting this case. Recognizing the challenges in the foster home with an infant learning to walk while also having other young children in the home, Kayla provides tremendous support to her CASA kid's care providers by being available to help out in the home at just the right time ... she often helps out at the dinner hour or bedtime and has made herself available when one of the foster parents needs to be out of town or is required to work late.

As if her engagement as a CASA wasn't enough, Kayla has also given of her time and creative talent for months leading up to Boulder Voices for Children’s Night of Hope event. Kayla ran with the "Colorado Rustic" event theme and transformed the ballroom and dining area into a magical setting. Kayla - the fruits of your labor unquestionably played a significant role in the success of this very important fundraising event for the organization. Proceeds from monies raised at Night of Hope enable us to pursue our mission and fund a variety of activities from training CASA volunteers to the ongoing support we provide our communities' children in need. We thank you Kayla for demonstrating through your phenomenal engagement as a CASA as well as your dihard commitment to the success of our organization, how one person can truly make a difference.
